Course Summary
- The Course Summary is an automated list of all due dates in the course, presented in chronological order. You cannot edit the Course Summary directly, but adjusting due dates for assignments, quizzes, discussions, etc. will update the information in the summary.
- The Course Summary is unchecked by default. You can choose to enable the option by checking the Show Course Summary box. NOTE: the box is only visible when you edit the Syllabus.
NOTE: Unpublished assessments will be hidden from students on the Course Summary, although they will be visible to you as the instructor.
The Course Summary allows students to see all the assignment due dates at a glance; however, if you prefer not to use it, you can disable it by deselecting the “Show Course Summary” checkbox below the description.

Update Your Home Page

The use of this area is up to you. Students will land here every time they log into your class, so think about what they may need. You can delete it if it doesn’t serve your course.
Some options:

Add course-specific links
Link to the current module. Ex: This week we are on Module 7. Then use a course link to direct students to that module. There will be less scrolling for them, but you will need to keep updating the modules.

To add a grade column, you will need to add an assignment. There is no option in Canvas to add a grade column separately.
